City to provide resources for outdoor seating

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Restaurants can be open at 33% capacity for inside seating at this time. Outdoor seating is permitted and does not count towards the 33% capacity. Restaurants can expand outdoor seating to their parking lots and grassed areas of their property or if given permission by their property owner. If you do not have tables and chairs for outdoor seating, please call City Hall at 606-784-8505 to request tables and chairs. The City will be loaning tables and chairs for this purpose.   If you plan to add additional outdoor seating beyond normal, please make the City Planner aware of these changes. Spring 2020 Sports Canceled

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the spring 2020 sports season is canceled. This includes baseball, softball, coaches pitch and t-ball. The City has made this difficult decision to protect the best interest of our league players, families and volunteers. The City Summer Day Camp Program will not take place this summer. The Sheltowee Falls Splash Pad will be closed during 2020.  After reviewing the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance and restrictions there are too many unknowns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic to hold this season and events while ensuring safety for everyone involved.     A refund will be issued to all registered players. Three new cases of COVID-19 reported in Rowan County

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Today, three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Morehead and Rowan County. The latest cases bring Rowan county’s total to six, two of which have recovered. The patients are self-isolating currently. Additional information regarding these individuals will not be released out of respect and compliance with medical privacy law.    As previously stated, additional cases are to be expected with the expansion of testing. The county and city are prepared and working with St. Claire Medical Center to provide support to positive cases. The low number of positive cases continues to represent a promising metric with Morehead and Rowan County’s relative population taken into consideration. Third positive case of COVID-19 reported in Rowan County

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Today, one new case of COVID-19 has been reported in Morehead and Rowan County. This case is the first confirmed within city limits. Rodburn Park open to foot traffic

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Rodburn Park will open to the public effective May 4, 2020. The picnic shelter will remain closed until further notice. Please practice social distancing while in the park area. Do not gather in large groups. Please stay six feet away from people in the park that are not visiting with you and your group. If large groups gather in this park the City of Morehead will need to close the park again. Private reservations for gatherings at Rodburn Park and other picnic areas will remain closed until further notice.
